Eid Ul Adha

Today marks the celebration of The Hajj. The fifth pillars of Islam, where one is encourage to do the holy pilgrimage if they in good health and of course can afford to do so financially. This also reminds me of a sad day, as my dad passed away after completed his hajj. He was affected by meningitis and passed away3 days after hospitalization. It was late night, back in Singapore when I got the news. I never get a chance to say last goodbye... in a way I guess I did, when I kiss his hand for the last time at the airport before he and mom heading towards the departure gate.

Today I know mom is feeling sad, remembering the time spend while performing the hajj with my late dad, only to arrive home by her lonesome self. It takes a long time for her to heal emotionally I know cuz it took a tolls on me. I have to be strong for the two of us, when I myself was feeling too weak and childlike. Silently I'm still mourning....

Thanks to BBC, I found a great website with pictures and a brief description of what Hajj is about. Another good website Islamicity.com where more details on Hajj can be found.

On this special day, I would like to wish all Muslims from all walks of life, Eid Ul Adha and may we receives Allah blessing always.
