THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And he kicked the Persian messenger and his cronies into the well. Realising Sparta was going to be under attack, King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 of his loyal armies marched to the Golden Gate to defend his beloved city from the Persians armies led by Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) who hail himself as god, awaiting to conquer Sparta into the empire.

Of course its not complete if the war epic did not include politic, betrayal, love, honor, courage, loyalty, bravery and brotherhood. The traitor, Sparta councilman (Dominic West) desires to become the king leads him to accept bribes from Xerxes, while the Queen (Lena Headey) unwillingly gave herself to him, in returned for a vote, when she address the councilmen. She made a convincing plea to a room full of testosterone, requesting the Spartan soldiers be deployed not for the king but for the future of Sparta, only to be betrayed by the traitor, as he called her a Queen whore. King Leonidas with his limited armies was having a hell of time against the Persian troops, sent one of his trusted soldier back to Sparta, to tell the story how the brave fought till the last man standing to defend Sparta from Xerxes takeover. The Spartans' heroism and sacrifice inspires all of Greece to unite against the Persian invaders. The story is loosely based on the Battle of Thermopylae which took place in the summer of 480 BC.

Now, I'm not a big fan of war epic movies... but damn this movie is good!! Sure its kinda gory with the blood and fighting, but heck what you expect its a historical war movie. The fighting technic and the team work coordination shown the Spartan is superb. Well, it helps that the men were ...mmm.... half naked in leather undie... sigh.. what else can a woman ask for.. can't go wrong with that...lol.
