I have the best seat in the house watching the first ever Formula One (F1) night race ever held in this tiny island of mine or anywhere else for that matters. My very own grand stand.. yap.. I get to watch all the cars zooming by in close comfort and still have my hearing unaffected. All this happening in the comfort of my living room...sigh.. luxury I say.
There was so much buzz about the F1 race folks just going crazy buying tickets, spending money for grand stand seat at close to S$1400 (about US$1100) for 3 days event.. that's is a whole lot of mullah for a regular folks like me who works hard and had to think twice about even spending S$89 dollars on a dress. Of course everyone trying to cash in on these first night race, with restaurants and hotels jacking up prices only folks with titanium and super privilege cards can afford to splurge and don't feel no guilt. Basically the F1 race is for the rich folks, not someone like me. There are parties being thrown left, right and center. There are parties to be seen at and there are parties just for the hardcore party animals. The whole event cost the organizer about a cool S$40 millions, to have the street tar, pits stop built and whatever that needed to make it a superb F1 night race and reading from the local papers, lots of local and F1 fanatics were impressed with the whole set up.
I have never been an F1 fan, I had attended once when they first have it at Sepang, Malaysia. With all the high octave zooming of the speed monster passing me by.. I FELL ASLEEP. The only thing I found interesting about the F1 race tonight, is when I seen 3 cars smashes, 1 Ferrari driver ran off with the oil hose still attached and that cost him the grand prix for everyone was gunning for him to win and he ends up in 13 place, when he started with 1st post beginning of the race. And of course Lewis Hamilton came in 3rd, the only reason I watch him... he's cute, that's about it...lmao. Other that than... I'M CLUELESS when it comes to F1 racing.
Now that the Spore Grand Prix is over, folks will get back to their ordinary life, it will be a little quiet as the buzz is dying down.. guess there will be next year race to look forward too...and I be right here in the comfort of my living room with my drinks and snack and my own private loo to go too when the bladder is full!!

Hey Gigi:
I was thinking about you when those cars were racing through your spot.
I hoped they were not bothering you too much.
I am not a big F1 fan but I watched for a spell.
Next time MotoGP visits Sepang go up there. I bet it would be cool to see too.
I almost made it to Sepang two years ago for MotoGP but then ... well I had to work.
Anyways, you be well and get ready to celebrate. Eid Mubarak to you and moms.
I will look in again and hope to read that you are having a ball.
Peace my sista.
Ridwan
