I want this, I want that..

What S$1,500 can do for me:

1.New coat of paint for my apartment (have to add another $500 and maybe more for better quality paints for the whole flat)

2. Paid my credit card (yes, it's over due. me paying at my minimum...sigh)

3. Take mom and me on a short trip (yes, I'm still feeling guilty from my Turkey trip)

4. Splurge on branded handbag (even though I'm not brand conscious, for that amount I can buy a dam whole new wardrobe!!)

5. Save it for my next trip so I can take mom to visit my cousin in Australia (eventually when she moves the whole troop to Brisbane or whichever part of it... No I'm not big on visiting down under either)

6. 115 sessions of 40 minutes foot reflexology (oh gawd it felt so good when they used their magic fingers to touch all the nerve points)

7. New laptop Dell model (but I was told Dell ain't all that....hmmm)

8. BUT I REALLY WANT TO SPLURGE MY MONEY ON CANON EOS 450D!!!!!!!!!!!

Sigh..

I been seriously thinking about my new hobby aka photography. I enjoyed taking pics even if I'm still shy aiming that gadget out in public. I been seriously thinking about upgrading my PS camera (point and shot) to a beginner DSLR camera. I been doing a lot of reading up and research both online and gadget shops.

To be honest, I'm clueless as to which dslr camera I should get, especially a beginner like me. Should I get Nikon D80, Canon Eos, Sony or Olympus?????? I finally narrowed down to 2 choices, Nikon D80 or Canon Eos. Last night I step into Courts and go straight to the camera section to see if they have anything good on offer. There stood in the display Nikon D80 with kits costing me a setback of nearly S$1900. Hmmm... when I ask if they sell the Nikon without the kit they said nope, but told me the prices will only be less by about $300 which I might as well get the full kit.

After telling her my dilemma, she than point me to Canon Eos 450D which is the latest model by Canon but selling at $400 less with kit lens. I like the feel of canon in my palm, its lighter and seems user friendly even though all that buttons and screen reading kinda scares me a little. The male assistance was very helpful by telling me the difference in both camera. Imagine my disappointment when I found out Nikon was made in Philippines and he recommends that its better to put my money on Canon as its made in Japan and quality assurance is there. He walks me through the whole process of the camera and show me the quality of the picture. Me being more of color visual, was very impress with Canon latest baby. Plus, I will get extra 2 gig, camera bag and a tripod!! Whooo hooooooooo I nearly pullout my purse and said WRAP THAT BABY UP!!

Than I count to 10.......real slow.....

I thank him for all his help and information. Said will read the pamphlet and think about it overnight. I just did another online research to convince myself if this worth my splurge. S$1500 is a lot of money as you can see from my list what I can do with it. But I really really wants this baby so badly I salivate in my dream....hee hee.

Am I being selfish? Just thinking of what I wanted when I know I could do something else with it. Maybe I should wait couple more months and hopefully it will reduce in price... maybe..

Sigh.. I'm feeling guilty just thinking about wanting to buy that Canon camera...
