I been wanting to go to the local botanical garden and snap pics for my collection. Met up with Nora and we head out to the park armed with our digital camera and as back up... our mobile phone camera....lol.
Thinking that the park was going to be empty, we were surprised to see families and couples hanging out chillin. There were quite a number of joggers, keeping fit running under the hot sun, which to me is absolutely a NO NO... hee hee.
The weather was being fickle on us. One moment, its hot ... next.. cloudy. Amateur that I am, had to scramble with my digi camera adjusting to the lights. As we strolled along the greenery, we came across couple of *Serious Photographer* with their tripod, big azz camera with the lens jutting out.... suddenly I felt embarrassed and tried to hide my small digital camera. Sigh.. one day... I will get one of those!!
We came across the orchid sections, only to realize we have to pay S$5 bucks (US$3.80). We looked at each other and was like.. WAH DUH HAYLE... we ain't paying nothing.... cuz WE AIN'T TOURIST!! There were couple of tourist groups from China. Thinking, we could blend in with the crowd and get in free... but uhh.. nah.. we don't wanna end up spending the rest of the noon, having to explain to the authority. Heck, I'm going to the wet market and snaps orchid pics from the local vendors!!
We walked snaps... posed for pics in between, wiped the perspiration, and posed for more pics...lol. After 2 hours of strolling under the hot sun and to avoid further sun stroke, we decided to head home.
We walked all the way back to the main town, which is about 15 mins if you strolled, by than our energy were already depleted and legs aching. Deciding to have dinner before heading home, we make our way to Coffee Tea and Bean and decided on pasta to regain back all the lost calories...lol.
Overall, it has been a good day. However, I was a little disappointed, as I expected to see more exotic flowers only to find.... uhh.. hardly. Nonetheless, glad we went to the park, it was a nice change. We planning to do it again only, this time its going to be a picnic. Hopefully they have free performance at the park, which they do sometimes. Guess I better check the local paper.

nice pics though--you did the best with what you had
and those pros started somewhere so no need to feel shy about your camera--in fact, they may feel happy to see someone taking up something they also feel passionate about; one thing is sure, they would certainly laugh if you had a big fancy camera and obviously didn't know what to do with it.
