Snippets of My Day

The weekend marks the ushering of Eid Mubarak. Its been a long weekend and I'm exhausted. Guests after guests came for visit. At one point, we have 4 families (with minimum of 5 members each family) arriving at the same time. Imagine the chaos, noise and me running around the house trying to serve everyone like chicken with no feathers. I lost track of who been served and who hasn't that I just told them to go and serve themselves.

It was great to see everyone again, we still expecting several other families (mostly from my dad side). Everyone look so good in their traditional clothes and the kids... ahhhh... they look so cute, I just wanna hug them!!... mmm not so much after they turn my guest room to nursery play pen....sigh.

Oh yeah, how can I forget... small envelope (fill with money) for the kids. Its tradition that the adult will give the lil ones money (any amount, if you pack a big wallet and really generous KIDS WILL LUV YA!!). Just like Xmas, kids receive toys... on Eid, they receive money on every house that they visited. So the kids are pretty much loaded by the end of the Eid festivities, while us the adult pretty much broke.....lol... but its once a year. Not forgetting we give to ol folks too.

Well, the pics below were taken last year just to give folks an idea... sorry I don't have any recent pics as I DON'T OWN A CAMERA.. yes me no camera!!! The pics of the house and cookies however, were taken by my mobile phone, just like TODAY.....lol...

Baked cookies and cakes (well someone baked them, WE JUST BOUGHT THEM!!) for the guests to munch on. While the *soul food* served in the kitchen of course.

My aunt (on my mom side) and her clans...lol.
Aunt on the left and Mom.
Don't we look nice in our traditional clothes.

Jeffrey and Peiter, the twins.
Jeffrey middle name after my dad, for keepsake.
I'm truly touch by it.

Ok.. so its not a clear pic... but uhh.. partial of my living room area.
Below, opposite side of the above pic.

DISCLAIMER:
FURNITURE AND DECORATION... ALL MY MOM!!!
(just to keep the peace)......
hee hee

When the guests left, me arm with ol trusty vacuum cleaner start cleaning up the house, do the dishes, fill the cookies, warm up the food, blah blah blah... before the next guests arrive.... sigh..

I'm exhausted!!

I have yet to iron my clothes for work and pack cookies for the office piranhas!!
