The Clean Up...

I'm tired. This is the last weekend of fasting in the month of Ramadan, before we ushered in Eid Fitri, also known as Eid Mubarak.

Been cleaning the house like we expecting the Queen to drop by. As usual Mom stressing me out as just about the same time every year. Nothing is done to her satisfaction.... naaawwwwthaannggggggg!!!! Arghh. I can foresee the same sh*t on the morning of Eid.

House chores done and there still plenty more pending. Every corner and nook in the house need to be clean, mop, dust, wipe, soap up... I'm feeling like a damn Filipino maid!! It doesn't help the weather been humid, I'm losing counts how many showers I've taken today, just to keep myself cool. Putting up the curtain was my last straw, as mom was really testing my patience. I had to walk away and just woooo sahhhhh.....I love her don't get me wrong, but not so much today....lol.

Next Saturday, the first day of Eid, the house going to be filled with visitors. Mostly relatives, who came to pay respect to mom. Sigh.. its gonna be hectic, we be cooking in the morning, make sure enough food is prepared for the guest, cookies and cakes nicely displayed (thank God, we can bought them instead of having to bake it). Make sure there's enough ice for the drink, but same goes every year, WE ALWAYS RUN OUT OF ICE..... oh well....

Since my dad passing 7 years ago, its never been the same. Early morning, I expect to see him walk through the door back from the mosque from the morning prayer. He in his new clothes, smiling as we make it through another Ramadan. It sadden me, all I have now ... just memories of such days. And it always brought me to tears, especially when I listen to the special Azan (calling for prayer) for I miss him... so much. Now there's only mom and myself. Mom getting older and I can't picture her not being around... it will be the loneliest place on earth.

What I love about celebrating Eid, is the chance to meet all the relatives that on an ordinary day, we be too busy going about our life. Chance to catch up with news, see new addition to the family, visiting old friends and enjoy the company and good food (all the calories, grease and extra weight that will follow suit). For that, I am bless to be here with mom, to usher in another Eid with the rest of the clans.

Can't wait to see them...

=:O)
