The phone rang at about 5.30am waking up the household, jolted me out of my sleep. I know mom will answered it, she always the early riser. I could hear the muffled behind my closed door, but I don't have to know what the conversation was about.
My aunt passed away today at 4.30am due to pneumonia and diabetes. It was a sad day for all of us. She the last remaining elders on my dad's side. Now, my mom became the elder of the family.
Several of the family members were a little peeved, as the news of her passing came in late. They peeved not able to say their last goodbye. I don't really blame them. but at the same time one has to respect the family request for early burial. I sat and watch the ritual before the burial. Images flashing in my mind... I can't imagine if that were my ....

Sigh... all the elders gone... left us the younger generations to bond the family ties.
